Arshad Daud has epilepsy and is asking others not to judge those with hidden disabilities, but to get to know them instead.

The 17-year-old from Leicester began having seizures at the age of 10, which affected his confidence, as he was worried about how people would react to his condition.

‘My life has changed completely since I started having seizures,' explains Arshad.

‘I became anxious and found it difficult to interact with others.

‘Now, I want people to look beyond someone’s illness and see them for who they really are.’

With Fixers, Arshad and his team have helped produce a series of posters, to encourage others to be more open-minded.

One of the prints features a QR code, which directs people to a short film. In the film, Arshad asks viewers not to define him by his disability.

The team are launching their campaign in local schools this week and they hope to engage as many young people as possible.

‘I like the posters,’ says Arshad.

‘It’s about young people making a difference.

‘Many tend to judge a person from the outside. I hope this campaign will make them look a little deeper.’
