Campaign: | To raise awareness of the benefits of apprenticeships |
Apprenticeships can be of great benefit to young people who can use them to develop both personal and professional skills.
Despite this, it seems that not that many people know about them and there aren’t enough opportunities available.
Two of us are former apprentices and can vouch for the difference having completed an apprenticeship makes when it comes to moving forward in your career.
We want to encourage businesses in Worcestershire and the West Midlands to create apprenticeships, and young people to investigate the variety of options on offer to them.
With the help of Fixers, we’ll be making a film which tells the real-life stories of apprentices from our area, showing how they progressed through their apprenticeships into their career.
We then plan to hold an event, through work, to get people talking about apprenticeships and the benefits they can bring.
Here is a list of young people helping with this Fix:

Sanctuary is the UK’s leading provider of care, housing and community services.
The not-for-profit organisation is backing our campaign and working in partnership with Fixers to help support young people across the country address the issues they want to fix.
With over 94,000 units of accommodation across England and Scotland, Sanctuary believe that building strong communities and inspiring people to make a real difference is as important as providing them with a home.
Thank you to Luisa Butera, who allowed us to use her hair salon for filming and also connected us with one of the apprentices there, who appeared in our Fixers film.
Thank you to the tatoo shop for allowing us to shoot scenes for our Fixers film.
