I feel that homophobic bullying is not taken as seriously as it should be within schools.
I went through a tough time when I came out, it was hard to take. However, I found support through the LGBT group I joined where there were people in the same situation as me.
In many communities, there's a lot of small mindedness around, so coming out as gay wasn't exactly the easiest thing for me.
My Fixers project is to encourage schools to treat homophobic bullying as seriously as racism.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
LGBT Youth Borders
Other members of the group helped with my Fix by sharing their experiences.
Penumbra are helping my Fix by offering support to those who've been left with mental health problems as a result of homophobic bullying.
Scottish Borders Council
The council helped my Fix by supporting our campaign in seeing homophobia taken seriously in schools.
Following my TV story being featured on ITV, the Peebleshire News and the Border Telegraph published a story about our Fixers project.
