In the area I am from, there is a problem with the drug 'meow', with people as young as 10 or 11 taking the drug.
The drug - which is a form of mephedrone, which is a Class B illegal drug - is similar to cocaine, but many people do not understand the risks.
A lot of young people just take the drug as a bit of fun, but they forget it can be dangerous and is illegal.
With the help of my friends, we're creating a short film to tackle the use of meow in our area.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Dan Parker, Youth Information/Health Worker, Caerphilly County Borough Council
Thank you for your support with this project, saying:
‘Thanks for the film. It’s very good! I will definitely use this with the young people I work with. Well done to all the young people involved in making it too!’
DAN 24/7 Wales Drug & Alcohol Helpline
Thank you for your encouraging feedback and support, saying:
'This is really positive and shows that young people can make huge impacts in their communities - great work.'
Our film was shown at a number of youth clubs. Below is feedback from some of those in attendance:
'I think this video is really good. I've taken the drug and it is like this.'
'It made me think about why people take drugs.'
'I thought the video was very different and a good way to show the dangers of this drug.'
Myself and the group were interviewed on Real Radio to talk about our project.
