Campaign: | What's in a Kiss? |
My son died from the Neonatal Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV1) when he was just 19-days-old.
He was born a healthy baby, but contracted the virus through the simple, loving act of a kiss.
I had no history of the virus myself, and was completely unaware it could have such catastrophic effects in newborn babies.
There is currently no cure for the virus, so prevention and early medical intervention are crucial if the baby is to survive.
My Fixers campaign is to warn people of the dangers of the Herpes virus and educate them about the risks of passing it on to newborns.
