Campaign: | To spread cheer in our city by sharing good gestures with strangers |
Something as simple as a high-five can be enough to brighten someone’s day, and we’re making it our aim to spread positivity to as many people as possible.
So, as a group, we held a Good Gestures Day.
We gave out high-fives, hugs, fist bumps and handshakes to members of the public.
Many of us have done this before, back in November 2013, but this time our Good Gestures Day, which was inspired by Stephen Sutton, will be part of a national campaign.
Stephen was a good friend of mine who was diagnosed with incurable cancer when he was 17 - he always stressed that he never wanted people to feel sorry for him.
He encouraged us all to seize the moment and make every second count, and this campaign sums up his outlook on life perfectly.

The positivity that everyone had on the day was really fantastic and Stephen Sutton even turned up to join in! The public absolutely loved it, especially the kids. For Stephen to see the support and the encouragement that everyone is giving him was amazing.
