I struggled with anorexia and bulimia for about 5 years and it’s a very lonely place to be.
Some people don’t understand that eating disorders are not about being vain; they’re mental health conditions.
When you see yourself, you’re not seeing reality. So even though you can feel ribs sticking out, you still see yourself as someone who’s very overweight.
Looking back at old photographs, it makes me realise how sick I really was and it’s really hard because these were meant to be happy times.
Now in recovery, I would like to challenge the stigma of eating disorders, so more people can speak openly and seek the help they need.
I also hope my Fix will help educate the public, so they can be more understanding of those experiencing such conditions.
Thank you to Rachel Johnston and Sarah Roberston, who supported my Fix by sharing their experiences for the broadcast film made about my campaign.
