Campaign: | Provide web support for self-harm |
During my late teens I was diagnosed with an eating disorder and I also used to self-harm.
The self-harm lasted for two years, but thanks to support from my friends and family, I stopped and have not harmed myself for four years.
While there are support networks out there, a lot of the time young people simply don’t know who to turn to. Negative mental health can make you feel very lonely, isolated, and different to anybody else.
Through a website, I hope to offer support to young people throughout the country who want to seek help to deal with their situation.
The site will also give parents, teachers, and other people advice on how to spot warning signs, and how to deal with them.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
Rob Etheridge | Katie Baker |
Sophie Wells | Lydia Robertshaw |
Tanisha Kalra | Jenny Leighton |
Kate Gorwill | Rhonda Rhiannon |
Joe Robertshaw | Catherine Farrell |
Hannah Winfield | Becci Leberda |
Hannah McKenzie | Gemma Leaney |

I held an event in Bristol to launch my Self Harm Organisation website, which you can visit by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. Around 20 people attended and there were talks from experts including Professor David Gunnell from the University of Bristol and my mum, who’s Director of Anorexia and Bulimia Care. There was also an open discussion surrounding self-harm.
Here is some feedback from people who attended the event:
Laura Brin from counselling service Off The Record, Bristol: ‘Today has been really valuable for me professionally. I will definitely spread the word among my organisation about Imogen’s website.'
Miggs Clark from Premier Christian Radio, London: ‘I am very encouraged by Imogen’s valuable work. I will make sure that those working on our helplines are aware of the website.'

Celebrity illusionist Derren Brown gave me his backing on Facebook and Twitter. He shared the link to my website.
I have created Facebook and Twitter accounts to accompany the Self Harm Organisation website.
