I have been caring for my mum since I was twelve-years-old, since she broke her shoulder.
She is a wheelchair user and can do a lot of tasks, but she needs help with things like shopping, hoovering and other household chores.
Thankfully I have had a positive experience with the support I received in school. The teachers were great and we had a Family Support Worker.
Some of my friends who are also carers haven’t had the same experience and have struggled at school.
It’s important to have support from the teachers because sometimes things happen at home which I bring into school with me.
My message to teachers and professionals is you need to see the signs and understand why some young carers are reluctant to speak out.
I would like to thank the following people for helping me with my fix:
Thank you to the Gerald Micklem Charitable Trust for funding this project.

Me and my friends want young people to know that calories aren't the enemy!
