Campaign: | To get a skatepark built in my home town |
My home town Brackley is lovely – peaceful and quiet. But for teenagers, it is a bit boring. There’s plenty of swings and slides for the younger kids but nothing much for us.
That’s why I want the council to build us a skatepark.
I know some older people think skateboarding leads to anti-social behaviour. But actually it’s the opposite. It gives young people somewhere to channel their energies and spare time, and keeps them off the streets.
We’ve managed to get the town council to carry out a feasibility study, looking at things like noise impact, and there is money available.
A skatepark was first proposed about 15 years ago. I believe that this time we can push the idea through for the benefit of everyone in the town.
