Campaign: | To get medics to offer improved support to those recovering from an eating disorder |
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with Anorexia Binge Eating Type, a combination of both Anorexia and Bulimia.
After my mum passed away in 2012, the illness spiralled out of control. I didn’t feel I deserved to be here when my mum couldn't be.
My eating disorder means I won't eat for a long time, but when I do I binge on huge amounts of high carbohydrate, high sugar foods.
When I have finished, I feel terrible and am scared of putting on weight so will purge myself of the food by vomiting and over-exercising. Then the cycle starts all over again.
I am still in the grip of my eating disorder but am receiving treatment and working hard to get better.
There are a number of key things that I think would have helped my recovery - and so I have made a film with Fixers to tell medical professionals exactly what they are.
Here is a list of Fixers who helped me with my campaign:
Hannah Bright
Bethany McLean
Sujot Biswas
Harvey Dalton
Jessica Lumsden
Alice Liambias-Maw
