Campaign: | To tackle negative attitudes towards care leavers |
I came to the UK when I was 13 as a child refugee after fleeing Afghanistan.
I was placed with a foster family from India. My experience with them has been amazing. I’ve learnt so much from them and they always encouraged me to be ambitious. I am now studying for a degree in social work at Goldsmiths.
In the past when I told people that I came from a foster family, I received a negative reaction so I didn’t tell many people after that.
I want society to realise that everyone deserves a fair chance and shouldn’t be defined by the fact that they grew up in care.
Chloe Cockett from Become Charity supported me with this Fix.
