Campaign: | To encourage people to stay positive in the face of adversity |
When I was 16 I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer which caused a tumour called an ependymoma to grow in my brain.
I’d been feeling unwell for a while and knew something was wrong. Right from the beginning I was determined to stay positive. During my treatment, I always thought about the future. There’s no point in thinking about the past. You have just got to look ahead.
I’ve had brilliant support from my friends and family. With Fixers I want to get the message out: if you have cancer or another serious illness you need to know that you are going to beat it. You just need to keep moving forward.
Kieran Woodhouse and Alex Reid helped me with this Fix.
Thank you to Michelle Brown from the Univeristy of Derby, who provided an interview for ITV.
