Campaign: | To encourage people with mental illnesses to ask for help |
I struggled with low self-esteem and a lack of confidence when I was in sixth form. The friends I had made in year 11 all went their separate ways to different colleges and I felt incredibly alone. I wasn't myself and I felt so upset all the time.
After about six months of feeling awful every day I went to the doctor and told them that I needed counselling and when I finally got the help I needed it was such a relief.
I made some badges with Fixers which have the message 'it's easier to ask' and I want them to show people suffering from mental ill-health that they can ask for help.
I want to show people in distressing situations that there is a way out of it and that you can get the right help - all you have to do is look for it.
