Campaign: | To stop people using the word 'gay' in a negative context |
Growing up I was the only gay person in my year and I stood out like a sore thumb. I was verbally bullied and it made me feel really isolated.
I have created a leaflet with Fixers to help people who are not fully aware of what the LGBT community experience and how we are a vulnerable group when it comes to mental health issues.
Many people do not appreciate how hateful words and prejudice can affect someone's state of mind.
I want everyone to know that the word 'gay' should not be used as a negative word or an insult, and that words can do more damage than they think.
The following Fixers helped me with this Fix:
James Thomas
Amy Griffiths
Emily Mills
Chantelle Garland
Amy Lavender
Paige Jeffrey
