Campaign: | To show the benefits of volunteering |
I think many people believe that volunteering is a waste of time, but if they saw the benefits they might be persuaded to get involved.
I’m a volunteer with Aylesbury Youth Action, a charity which has allowed me to work with a range of individuals from young people to the elderly.
Not only do I feel as though I’m making a difference, but I’ve also grown in confidence.
Voluntary work can equip people with skills for life, but also make them more employable too.
I’m working with Fixers to show the value of volunteering and encourage more people to give it a go.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with the Fix:

Heart of Bucks is proud to support Fixers to help enable young people in Buckinghamshire to address the issues that matter to them through their Fixer projects.
Heart of Bucks is the county’s community foundation and our main aim is to encourage and enable localised ‘giving back’, so that together we can fund a wide range of charitable projects across Buckinghamshire.
As a community foundation, we secure donations from individuals, trusts and organisations that want to make a difference in the areas they are passionate about. Through providing bespoke services to our donors, we can ensure that their charitable giving is maximised throughout the county.
Throughout the year local charities and not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for funding for a hugely diverse array of projects. Applications are then considered six times a year by our grants panel, which consists entirely of Buckinghamshire-based volunteers.
Heart of Bucks are part of a network of 48 very similar but independent community foundations throughout the UK, all working to encourage and enable local giving.
