I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at the age of 13.
At first, I struggled to accept it. I’d see other people who were autistic and thought the doctor had somehow got it wrong with me.
But I slowly realised that everybody with Asperger’s was not the same.
Living with Asperger’s can have its challenges, but it’s part of who I am and doesn’t make me any less than anyone else.
I’m working with Fixers to challenge misconceptions of the condition and show others who have it that they shouldn’t feel ashamed.
I would like to thank Laura Brooks for helping me with this Fix.
