Campaign: | To encourage people with medical conditions to not let their illness hold them back |
I have a rare condition called scimitar syndrome, which basically means I only have one functioning lung.
In school, I wasn’t really able to take part in P.E lessons, but I’ve tried to not let the illness define who I am.
With thanks to my amazing family and my doctors, I am now studying for a Childhood and Youth degree at University, but I am also a member of the trampoline team, a sport I have enjoyed since the age of six.
It’s not easy with my condition as I do get breathless, but it’s helped me grow in confidence and to believe in myself.
My Fixers campaign is about raising awareness of how having an illness or medical condition does not have to stop you from achieving whatever you want.
Thank you to Martha McKinnell and Sara-Louise Northover for helping me with this Fix.
