Campaign: | To raise awareness of the negative impact of youth unemployment |
I left school when I was 17. I had GCSEs and an AS Level in business studies but I couldn’t find a job.
I sent off 55 job applications but just couldn’t manage to get through to anybody. I got a lot of rejections and some people wouldn’t reply to me at all.
I was unemployed for about a year. It battered my self-esteem and I think it must be doing the same to other young people too.
I made the booklet with Fixers because I want to raise awareness of the negative impacts that youth unemployment can have, and remind young people that they are talented and they can achieve whatever they set their mind to.
I want to show them that there are other people who have been through the same thing and managed to find work after persisting.
Fixer Hamada Thomas helped me with this Fix.
