I grew up in foster care since the age of seven, and although my foster family is fantastic, I did feel different.
I lacked confidence and always felt that I wasn’t good enough and that I couldn’t do anything.
I think everyone is going to face setbacks in life, and for someone who’s been in the care system, it’s going to be particularly challenging for them.
But I’ve now gone on to a good job working for the council, and I want to urge other care leavers to believe in themselves and aim for their full potential in life.
My message is don’t give up and you will get to where you want to be.
