Campaign: | To provide an LGBT support group at my school |
I was born a girl but came out as transgender a couple of years ago.
There was some negativity because some people weren’t educated in the whole area of LGBT.
That’s the reason why I think our project can have a positive impact.
Supported by my school, my friends and I have formed a group to support LGBT young people and educate the public.
Fixers has helped us design window stickers for shops and other public buildings to show they support LGBT people and that it is an LGBT-safe zone.
I hope the day will come when people won’t even have to 'come out'; I’d like people to be accepted instantly for who they are, because people are people at the end of the day. We’re all human.
Terri Barbery-Redd from Wadebridge School and Steve Cannon of the Intercom Trust supported the project by providing interviews for ITV News.
