Campaign: | To encourage others to talk about mental health |
I was first diagnosed with depression at the age of 12 and have also self-harmed. I felt like I was trapped in a bubble because I couldn’t bring myself to speak about it.
Looking after people’s mental health is just as important as taking care of their physical health.
I now want to use my experiences to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health, so that young people feel safe talking about their feelings.
With Fixers, I want to show that it’s normal to feel scared before seeking help.
But talking is the first step towards recovery. We all have a part to play in this, people need to listen and understand.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Kyle Blake | Robin Siddall |
Isam Mustafa | Holly Carter |
Louise Jones | Jake Green |
Steve Beaumont |
My Fixers project is supported by Simplyhealth which helps people care for their everyday health through health cash plans, dental plans and independent living solutions.
With over 140-years of history in the healthcare market, the organisation is working in partnership with Fixers to help support young people to have their voices heard on the subject of mental health.
Your Housing Group
Natalie Hinchliffe from Your Housing Group supports my Fix. She put me in touch with Fixers and has helped me throughout my project. Among other things, she helped to secure a location and find actors for my Fixers film.
