Campaign: | To show others the value of social action |
My team and I are passionate about social action.
Social action is the term used to describe the things people do to make positive change in their communities.
It’s important to us that those who feel disillusioned by something in society, speak up and help to make a difference.
We’re concerned that our peers aren’t always aware of social action and don’t know how to get involved.
With Fixers, we held an event in Bristol to show passers-by how they can campaign for positive change.
We hope we’ve inspired other young people to take action on issues that matter to them.
Thank you to Jamie Riley and Jasmine Denny for helping me with this Fix.
September 2015
On Friday 18th September, my team and I held an event in Bristol City Centre.
We spoke to passers-by about social action and the steps we can all take to make positive change in our communities.
We had a great response and received some really positive feedback. You can read some of the comments below.
'It’s a really good idea for young people to talk to others about how they can get active in the community! I don't think anyone else is doing this.'
'I am glad to see that these young people are concerned about the future of their community. A lot of the time you think young people don't care, but these guys obviously do.'
'After talking to the Fixer I now know what I want to change!'
'It is really good to know that I can talk to my local MP about issues that bother me. I didn't know it was so easy!'
