Campaign: | To show the benefits of learning circus skills |
I was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at the age of nine.
Because of this, I often found it difficult to interact with other people and my confidence was really low.
But about four years ago, I discovered circus, which completely changed my life.
Learning something new gave me a sense of purpose and really improved my self-esteem.
Now I’m in a community circus with my twin brother where I’ve learned of number of disciplines such as diablo, unicycle and juggling to name a few.
I hope to show others how these skills can benefit people in their own lives, just like they did in mine.
A special thank you to my brother Thomas Horner for helping me with this Fix.
We are both performers in the circus. Jim Webster and Nick McCaffery supported our project by introducing us to Fixers.
