Campaign: | To show young people who've been homeless the power of art |
Working with young people in supported accomodation has opened my eyes to the issue of youth homelessness.
Listening to some of their stories has made me realise how lucky I am.
It also got me thinking how I could help these indivudals move on from their past and feel inspired.
With the help of Fixers, I organised a series of art workshops, encouraging the young people at Earls Court YMCA to get creative.
The aim was to see what they were capable of when they put their minds to something.
But also, I wanted to bring everyone together and make them feel a sense of pride and self-worth.
I think that the key to solve homelessness amongst young people is integration and projects like this are a good start.
A special thank you Deborah Mason and Nicky Chambers for helping me with this Fix.

In April, we started our art workshops at Earls Court YMCA. It was a real success and allowed the residents there to get creative and interact with others their age. Below is a picture from one of the sessions.
