Campaign: | To raise awareness of the after effects of cancer, so those in remission get support |
I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, a form of cancer, when I was 16-years-old.
I received chemotherapy and was later told I was in remission.
Although this news was extremely positive, I felt I lost my support network of doctors and friends, as people assumed I was completely better.
I felt I still needed that support as I tried to return to normal, while dealing with the emotional trauma the cancer had caused.
I don’t think that people are aware how deep the effects of cancer go.
With Fixers, I want to show that remission is not the end of the journey. Beating the illness is only half the battle.
Claire-Monique Martin and Jessica Arden helped me with this Fix.
Simplyhealth
My Fixers project is supported by Simplyhealth which helps people care for their everyday health through health cash plans, dental plans and independent living solutions.
With over 140-years of history in the healthcare market, the organisation is working in partnership with Fixers to help support young people to have their voices heard on the subject of mental health.
Annabel Miller and Martin Rossen have supported my Fix. They played roles in my Fixers film.
Thank you Elsa who appeared in my broadcast in support of my campaign.
