Campaign: | To encourage more young people to get involved in farming |
My dad’s a farmer and I started going along to help him when I was little.
There’s always something to be done on a farm and it’s hard work – but it brings many benefits.
My team and I believe that people don’t always understand the industry, and we hope that by raising awareness of what we do, we can encourage others our age to take an interest in agriculture.
Farming means working long hours, but it’s a pleasure to be in the fresh air and to learn responsibility.
Although it requires dedication, we want to demonstrate that the rewards make it worthwhile.
Hopefully we can help inspire others to feel as passionately about it as we do.
Paul Gardner is helping me with this Fix.
Alistair Mackintosh from the NFU in Cumbria supports our Fix. He agreed to be interviewed to appear in our broadcast piece.
