Campaign: | To improve sex education in schools |
Between the ages of six and twelve, I was sexually abused.
At the time, I didn’t realise it wasn’t normal, which is why I didn’t seek help.
Perhaps it could have been stopped earlier if I’d just been told what was right and wrong.
For this reason, I’m working with Fixers to push for better sex education in the classroom.
Pupils should be taught about consent and about healthy and unhealthy relationships.
Hopefully if teachers and parents address the issue early on, they can help prevent others from suffering in the future.
('Emma' is not my real name, because I would like to remain anonymous.)
