Campaign: | To dispel misconceptions of ADHD |
I was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at the age of eight.
The condition, which can cause people to become restless and have short attention spans, is often mistaken for bad behaviour or something that only affects children, which isn’t the case.
Because of this reason, young adults like myself can sometimes struggle to find the right support.
With Fixers, my team and I have made a short film, which seeks to dispel some of the misconceptions of ADHD.
Hopefully, in turn, it can also help to improve support services for adults who have the condition.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Aine Moore
Caitlin McCabe
Chloe Weaver
James Carroll
Tara Tierney
The Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health (NIAMH)
Manager Emma Weaver supported the Fix by providing an interview for our broadcast film.
