Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, I came to the UK when I was very young.
I’ve enjoyed a great education and met some amazing people here, but I’ve also been a victim of racism.
Because I couldn’t speak English too well, I was often verbally and physically abused growing up, singled out because of my ethnic origin.
It made me feel extremely small and like I was an outsider.
Along with my team, who’ve also experienced similar abuse, we are working on a Fixers campaign to end racial prejudice by showing the impact it can have on people’s lives.
We hope the project encourages others to see everyone as an individual and not to discriminate on the basis of ethnicity.
