Campaign: | To support graduates looking for jobs after university |
I’m in my final year at university studying for a media and communications degree, and I’m worried about what comes next.
It’s a competitive industry that I want to get into and I feel daunted.
There are some people that seem to think that as soon as they graduate they’ll walk straight into a job, but I’ve seen my friends struggle and realise that it’s not going to be that easy.
I’m learning that you have to put yourself out there and be the one that everyone wants to see.
So, I’ve sought out work experience with a digital video production company, and with Fixers, want to help my peers in their search for jobs.
To do this, I’ve been speaking to a number of people who’ve thrived in the media industry, who I would consider role models.
I hope that by sharing their success stories I can convince others that they can achieve their dreams, so long as they’re willing to work for it.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
Seyi Noibi | Daniel Chiabi |
Michael Bademusi | Esther Oludioe |
Anthony Olanipekun | Kayode Animashaun |
Toyosi Gbadamosi | Kemi Oloyeda |

I launched my resource on Thursday 16th October at ITV’s Open Newsroom Day in London. Around 80 young people were at the event, which was organised for those with an interest in the media industry. I was invited to speak to the group, presenting my broadcast film and handing out my Fixers booklet. It was a great day, giving us a real insight into what goes on behind-the-scenes.
