Campaign: | To convince young pedestrians of the importance of road safety |
It troubles me to hear of the numbers of young pedestrians involved in serious road traffic accidents each year.
These collisions can happen if a person isn’t paying attention while crossing the road.
My team and I want to show how distractions, such as texting while walking, can make pedestrians less aware of what’s going on around them.
With Fixers we’ve helped create a film to encourage others to take more care. It’s important that they’re aware of the potential dangers that can arise if you don’t look where you’re going.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
Chloe Wharton | Crystal Miller |
Joe Hill | John Wadsworth |
Polly Foster | Ruby Kremer |
Thea Smith | Megan Stuchfield |
Leeds City Council
The team at Leeds City Council are supporting our project. We’re all members of Leeds Youth Council, and it was the local authority that helped put us in touch with Fixers. They’ve also provided us with space to hold meetings.
Tim Draper from Leeds City Council’s Road Safety Team also helped the project by appearing in our television item, where he explained how serious the issue is.
