Campaign: | To show young people with mental health issues that they’re not alone |
I first experienced depression, anxiety and stress in my early teens.
I felt low, isolated and alone and didn’t want to share these emotions with anyone.
But now I realise that the support was there all along, I just didn’t give anyone the chance to help me.
To cope with my depression I turned to figure skating. It’s an activity that I love and it became my ‘happy place.’
The ice rink was somewhere where I could be myself and get away from the stresses of day-to-day life.
With Fixers, I’m encouraging other young people with mental health issues to find a similar escape.
I want them to know that they’re not alone and that help is available should they need it.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:

November 2014
I launched my Fixers film at the Mind’s Peerfest event in Birmingham on Friday 21st November. The event shows organisations how peer support can be a lifeline for people with mental health problems.
My Fixers film, which shows how ice skating helped me cope with depression, was shown to an audience of over 150 people from many different organisations. I also had a chance to say a few words about why I started my campaign.
