Campaign: | To help young people with problematic pasts move forward with their lives |
My mum’s drug habit meant I didn’t have the greatest of childhoods.
I would often go hungry because she’d forget to feed me and on several occasions, even locked out of the house when she’d go away to get high.
Thankfully, I left home to stay with a relative at the age of eight and it was probably the best thing that’s happened to me.
Now I’m getting on with my life and, although the memories of my past are still there, I’ve learnt how to deal with them.
With Fixers, I’ve helped to make a leaflet, which gives hope to young people who may have been through difficult times like me.
I hope it will encourage them to move forward with their lives and know there is hope even in despair.
