Campaign: | To tackle the stigma attached to homeless young people |
Discovering street football turned my life around.
At the age of 14, I became homeless due to a family breakdown. Having experienced challenges in my youth, my support worker introduced me to Street Football Wales last March, which allowed me to address the issues I was going through.
I began playing for a team in the Newport league, and was eventually selected to take part in the Homeless World Cup, held in Poland in August 2013.
Through this experience I have learned skills that go beyond the pitch and are helping me move forward with my life.
I have also seen street football positively impact the lives of others, and want more people to know about its benefits.
Now a Project Worker for Street Football Wales, I aim to challenge the stigmas often attached to young people – especially those who are socially excluded.
For my Fixers campaign, I plan to provide a setting for young people involved in street football to show the community that we are motivated, ambitious and able to achieve.

Street Football Wales
The team at Street Football Wales support my Fix. They are allowing me to hold my event on one of their monthly match days. This means they’ve helped by organising the fixtures and the venue.
August 2014
My team and I helped to organise a street football open day, which took place on Thursday 28th August at the Gendros Community Centre in Swansea.

On the day, we distributed bags and wristbands, which were produced with the help of Fixers. You can see these below.
