Today Fixers announce Margo Horsley, the founder and chief executive of Fixers, is standing down after leading the organisation for 10 years.
Margo’s vision and tenacity has helped Fixers, the charity which works with young people from all backgrounds, grow from tiny beginnings to become a force in the voluntary sector.
An increasing number of institutions now consider how they value the voices of their beneficiaries and put them at the heart of all they do, as a result of Margo’s hard work.
‘I feel privileged to have worked with such an accomplished team now and over many years and to have had the opportunity to meet and work with so many committed young people,’ said Margo. ‘I wish all the staff and the Fixers every success in the future.’
In the 10th anniversary year of Fixers, Margo plans to move in to a new phase of the development of her lifetime’s work. Margo leaves the organisation in the knowledge that young people who have become ‘Fixers’ are being seen as tomorrow’s young leaders, full of courage and energy, creating a growing sphere of influence and impact.
The Board of Fixers (PSBT) has thanked Margo for her many years of service and her determination, focus and persistence in developing Fixers from an idea to the charity it is today.
Ralph Bernard, Fixers (PSBT) Chair said: ‘I would personally like to thank Margo for everything she has done in making Fixers what it is today.
‘Fixers is at a crucial point in its plans to be sustainable, the work and effort put in by Margo over the years has not gone unnoticed and I hope we can continue the great work Fixers does with young people.’
As Fixers looks to the future, the current head of fundraising Natasha Montagu, will act as interim CEO.
