Communications Team

Lucy Tatchell

Name: Lucy Tatchell

Job title: Head of News and Media

Department: Communications
What are your main roles with Fixers? My job is to tell the public about what Fixers does. I do this through interviewing Fixers, writing press releases, attending events and helping to keep the website up to date.
Why did you want to work with Fixers? I love the energy and passion young people have and their strong desire to bring about change. To be a part of that, and help spread their message, was an opportunity I could not resist.
What do you want to achieve while working with young people (Fixers)? I would like to ensure each young person’s message is seen by as many people as possible and help them realise their voice does have impact.
Favourite colour: I swing between canary yellow and peacock blue, usually depending on the season!
Hobbies: Jogging along my local seafront and travel, travel, travel.
Something people may not know about you: I have heterochromatic eyes! Oh, and I have been shot at by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Why did you want to work with Fixers? After spending almost ten years working as a journalist, I love to tell a good tale.  As soon as I came across Fixers, I could see that here were thousands of young people with amazing stories that needed to be shared.

Favourite colour: I am rather partial to purple.

Hobbies: Tearing around after my toddler.

Something people may not know about me: I am married to the North Korean Golf Open Champion 2012. It’s a long story!
