Campaign: | Promoting tolerance for transgender people |
I always knew I was different, and from an early age didn't feel comfortable in my skin.
My coming out as trans (female to male) has been interesting for sure and I’ve been made to feel like the odd one out sometimes.
I would love the opportunity to tell my story and to help others in a similar situation to me.
I basically want to change peoples' negative perceptions of trans people and promote better understanding.
Everyone is a human being and I think once we all realise this, it's the only way we can move forward.
I remember when I wasn't allowed to use either toilet in a bar, because the attendant didn't know what sex I was.
It was so embarrassing what happened to me. But working with Fixers, I hope to stop things like this happening to other people.
June 2013
I was asked by Fixers to write a blog on the revamped MTV Voices website. The entry gives insight into a typical day for me and what it's like to be transgender.
March 2013
My story was featured in the Manchester Gazette, Salford Online and the Manchester Evening News.
