Campaign: | To show what it's like to live with Crohn's disease |
In March last year I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease.
They told me 7 out of 10 people would require surgery in first two years and I just left thinking “yeah sure, that’s just a statistic.”
But a week later I was in hospital seeing a surgeon.
Crohn’s has changed my life, but it hasn’t all been bad. I’ve a spent a lot of time in hospital but I’ve also held down a job and I’ve realised just how good my friends and family are.
I don’t think many people understand what Crohn’s is, so with Fixers I’m making an animated film to raise awareness about the condition, which causes fatigue and abdominal pain.
Belfast Health and Social Care Trust
Consultant Gastroenterologist Dr Graham Turner supported my project by providing an interview for the UTV Live broadcast.
