I was born a girl, but as I was growing up, I began to feel like I was trapped in the wrong body.
I didn’t like things that other girls did and preferred being in the company of boys.
I was a bit of a tom boy, and preferred skateboarding instead.
I didn’t really understand how I was feeling – until I watched the BBC television series Waterloo Road, where I began to identify with a boy-to-girl transgender character called Kasey.
Watching her transition gave the courage to do the same, but it wasn’t easy.
At first, going back to school was hard and I was lonely. Like me, a lot of people didn’t know what being transgender meant.
So with Fixers, I’ve designed a poster showing what it means to be transgender.
Ultimately, you’re the same person deep down.
