At school, I was considered a high achiever and was always directed towards university.
I wasn’t given information about apprenticeships and they weren’t really advertised as an option to me.
I think this is wrong and that there are still people who misunderstand what apprenticeships are and who they are for.
With Fixers, I’m campaigning to highlight the benefits of apprenticeships to all school leavers.
They’re a valuable way to gain qualifications while doing on-the-job training. I think if I’d done an apprenticeship, I’d be further on in my career than I am now.
I want to ensure that young people are aware of all the options available, so they’re free to decide whether or not an apprenticeship is right for them.
