Coming out to family and friends can be a daunting prospect for LGBT young people and it’s vital that they are offered support.
The idea of opening up to loved ones can cause people to feel anxious, especially if they’re unsure about the reaction they will receive.
Having gone through this experience ourselves, my team and I want to share our stories to show others that there is support out there.
We want LGBT young people to know that they aren’t alone. They shouldn’t be afraid to be true to themselves.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:
The youth work team at Y-Sort it! support our Fix. They’ve helped facilitate the project and organise the launch event for our Fixers film. They're also helping us to plan workshops to deliver in schools.
Martin Docherty, MP for West Dunbartonshire
Martin Docherty MP supports our Fix. He agreed to take part in a Skype call to give his thoughts on our project as part of our launch event.
On Monday 22nd June we launched our Fixers film in Clydebank to an audience of youth workers, teachers and our local MP Martin Docherty.
