Prejudice

Prejudice can take many forms. It can occur on the grounds of race, ethnicity, religion or gender, but also because of age, disability, appearance or participation in particular pastimes.

Acts of prejudice do not always include violence or physical threat. Certain words, language and behaviour can also lead to discrimination.

These can demean other people and can have lasting effects on confidence and self-esteem.
