Campaign: To show young people the benefits of volunteering

Some young people are reluctant to try voluntary work, but maybe they would feel differently if they were aware of its benefits.

After volunteering at a youth centre I became more confident around people and much more self-assured.

It can provide you with vital work experience and therefore improve your job prospects.

My team and I are working with Fixers to show that unpaid work not only benefits volunteers, but can also have a positive impact on service users and their families.

We hope our campaign will inspire others to give volunteering a go - gaining crucial skills for life in the process.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with this Fix:

Beth Averell

Christie Beedle

Elliott Aspery

Joel Fitzpatrick

Kirsty Martin

Lorna Webb

Nikki Gardner

Penelope Jupp

RDA Unicorn Centre

Jodie Wright, Lauren Hart and Shannon Lawrence volunteer at the RDA Unicorn Centre and have supported my Fix by helping with the project. The centre, which offers horse riding lessons to people with disabilities, is also where I work.

Lauren Hart and Shannon Lawrence also supported the project by appearing in the film.
