Location: Plymouth
Campaign: To challenge myths about self-harm

Having self-harmed in the past, I’m aware that there are a great number of myths surrounding the topic.

I’ve known it to be described as attention-seeking and an attempt at suicide, while others incorrectly believe it’s uncommon.

In fact, it’s thought around 10% of young people may try to hurt themselves deliberately, and it’s my aim to make sure more of them are getting support.

With Fixers, I want to help teachers at secondary schools and colleges better understand self-harm, so they can spot the signs and offer assistance when it’s needed.

Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:

Tanisha Pearce
Shannon Coombe
Jade Smith
Jess Pinney

Marine Academy Plymouth
The team at Marine Academy Plymouth have supported my project. They helped by putting me in touch with Fixers.
