Campaign: | To raise awareness about sex trafficking in the UK |
I don’t think people in the UK realise how close to home sex trafficking can be.
With human trafficking – particularly for the sex trade – becoming the fastest growing form of international crime, I feel it’s important to raise awareness about this problem so more can be done to prevent it.
For my Fixers campaign, we staged a ‘women sale’ in Cardiff city centre to highlight the issue in a thought-provoking way.
I handed out flyers to the general public that contained shocking statistics about sex trafficking and asked people to consider what price they’d put on their own mother, sister, daughter or themselves.
The event I held and the responses I got back from the public have encouraged me to continue spreading my message and raising awareness.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
Esther Sian
Rebeccca Hughes
Tabitha Fry
Joyce Watson, National Assembly of Wales
In my Fixers film, Joyce Watson offered her professional opinion and supported my campaign.
Karen Cleverly, Wales Against Human Trafficking
Karen Clevely featured in my Fixers film to back my campaign and discuss the impact of sex trafficking.
