Campaign: | To warn aspiring models about rogue agencies |
After recently being crowned Deputy Miss England, I began to look for an agency to further my career as a model.
Having received many rejections, one company said that I was exactly what they were looking for and invited me for a high-end photo shoot.
It was only after doing some research that I discovered it was all a scam, in which this rogue operator was asking me for hundreds of pounds for a portfolio of pictures, which I didn’t need.
It was devastating because one minute you feel so happy and yet the next it’s all taken away.
But using my experiences, I’m now working with Fixers to stop this happening to others.
These bogus companies shouldn’t be allowed to get away with preying on vulnerable young people.
I’m raising as much awareness as possible to educate aspiring models to be aware of what they agree to.
I would like to give a special thank you to Saba Shakir and Tristan Gage for helping me with my Fix.
Laurie Kuhrt, Chairman of the Association of Model Agents, supported my Fix by providing an interview for my television story.
