Campaign: | To challenge negative misconceptions about those in care |
It’s my view that young people in care often face unfair, negative stereotypes.
I went into care when I was ten. I was confused and angry and felt as though people were judging me to be inadequate.
So, I’ve decided I want to challenge the negative perceptions some people have of others like me.
Just because you’ve grown up in care, it doesn’t make you a bad person – or someone with limited prospects.
Raising awareness of this is what my campaign is all about.
With Fixers, I want to encourage people to think twice before judging those in care, especially if you don’t know anything about them.
Thank you to Aimee Stuart for helping me with my Fix.
Jamie Tulloch supported my Fix by helping with the initial steps of the project.

I've had some really positive feedback about my completed film, you can read these comments below.
Chantele Addison: 'This is honestly amazing! Kids in care are judged way to quickly in this society, all of us have a story. Well done, you should be really proud.'
Katie Munro: 'Wow, amazing talent and really moving.'
Chris Spence: 'I was in care most of my life and it's hard trying to explain to people that it doesn't mean that you're bad. Take care of yourself.'
Naomi Wallace: 'I have so much respect for this song, finally someone is expressing their feelings about how much negativity we get. Us kids in care always have a story but none of us are bad. Well done.'
Greg Cox: 'I was in care, i'm now doing an early degree in natural sciences and mathematics and I rent a flat. There is hope and much more for care leavers.'
Clare Dow: 'I'm Speechless, it's fantastic. All young people really inspire me with everything that they do. You are all so talented.'
