I live in Harrow with my two-year-old son Riley. I’ve breastfed my child since birth and think more young mums should consider it.
It's my opinion that many mothers in our society turn to formula much too quickly without considering the health benefits breastfeeding has to offer – not just for baby but also for mum.
For my Fixers campaign, I hope to highlight the virtues of breast milk and aim to normalise breastfeeding.
I hope it will also encourage the public to be more tolerant of breastfeeding in everyday life.
I would love to see more woman consider it as a viable option for their child.
Here is a list of Fixers helping me with my Fix:
Alison Spiro, Ealing Hospital NHS Trust
Specialist health visitor Alison Spiro appeared in my broadcast piece to support my campaign and expand on the health benefits of breastfeeding.
Simone appeared in my broadcast piece to talk about her own experiences with breastfeeding.
Thank you to Amy for talking in my broadcast about her decision to breastfeed.
Since the broadcast of my film on ITV News London I've had some really positive reactions from people supporting my campaign and my message. Read what some people have said below.
Marley, Neighbourhood Midwives:
'Fab! Just what we need to see. I hope the message is beginning to sink in!'
'Good work Kim! We need more mums like you.'
'Nobody should be seething at breastfeeding! Carry on mothers and ignore the others.'
Me and my friends want young people to know that calories aren't the enemy!
