Campaign: | To raise awareness about Tourette's syndrome |
I always knew there was something different about me growing up, but I was only diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome two years ago.
It makes me have random outbursts, which I can’t control. These tics often involve swearing or making funny noises.
It is embarrassing especially when I’m out in public because people stare at you like you’re from another planet.
So with the help of Fixers, I’m producing a short film showing just how challenging living with Tourette’s can be.
I hope it will open people’s eyes to the condition and will help them realise it’s something that can’t be controlled.
I want to give a special thank you to Louise Millar, Oluwatosin Adamolekun and Paul Whiteley for helping me with my Fix.
I volunteer at the college and Kym Cheetham helped my Fix by facilitating the project.
Suzanne Dobson, Chief executive of Tourette's Action supported my Fix by providing an interview for my broadcast item.
April 2014
I was invited on BBC Radio Merseyside to talk about my Fixers project and what it's like living with Tourette's syndrome.
